Sambava is a town in the north east of Madagascar. Male’s from the Sambava panther chameleon locale are characterized by an orange-yellow background color with a red-orange U bar. males from this locale also commonly incorporate some green coloration as well as dark pattern lines among the reds, oranges, and yellows. Another useful diagnostic characteristic is the white lateral line which often has a blue hue.
Males from the Sambava locale can often be difficult to distinguish from the Andapa Panther chameleon locale. This is not surprising given the close proximity of the two locales.
