The Andapa locale is an area on the north east coast of Madagascar, to the west of (and very close to) the town of Sambava. Like males from Sambava, males from the Andapa Panther chameleon locale are characterized by an orange-yellow background color with a red-orange U bar and dark pattern lines. Males from this locale also incorporate some blue coloration in their barring. Another useful diagnostic characteristic is the white lateral line stripe that often incorporates some blue.
Males from the Andapa locale are sometimes difficult to tell apart from males from Sambava, which is not surprising given their close proximity. Males from the two locales can sometimes be distinguished by the blue incorporated in the barring of Andapa males.
